REVIEW: Monster Family Frankie And Alivia Stein Playset

Hello Ghouls and Mansters,

My name is Frankie Stein, and I am a Monster High doll.

It is Saturday, and it is time for something NEW in the blogspot. Well, the playset isn't EXactly new because sadly we Monster High dolls are not out in the stores anymore, but with luck you can still find some of us out there.

Also, it is weeks ago Calaminthe brought this version of me home, so it is about time it will be reviewed.

What IS new for me is, that from the time on Calaminthe bought this set, I have a little sister.

Her name is Alivia Stein, and of course she will be reviewed first. We really love her!

So, let's start.

The box says, the playset is called:

MONSTER FAMILY FRANKIE STEIN

and that is why I talk about it myself, but nevertheless I think it should have been called Monster Family Frankie and Alivia Stein, because we are two, as you can see!

On the picture above you have a look onto the front of the box.
It mainly is designed like a scene in a purple picture frame. On the right you can see the MH signature logo writing with scullette, and on the bottom it says Monster Family Frankie Stein. You also can see in the corner that the playset is made for children 6+.

On the left, there are two artworks showing Alivia and myself having a barbecue.

There is of course a large plastic part where you can see us through.

On the boxes back you can find the logo and the pictures once again on a black background with spiderweb design.

There also is a yellow part that sais "Monster Family" in different languages and a lot of firm information. You also can find a web adress and, right from it, the serial number of this playset.

When you open up the box you can find Alivia and myself pinned on a background that also looks like a purple framed scenery. It is yellow with black and shows a landscape.

Here you can see us with everything included to the playset.

NOT included are a brush, doll stands and diaries like you had them with every early Monster High doll.

Here we are, freed from all the packaging and together with everything included to the set, which is us dolls, a grill, three corn cobs, a tray and barbecue tongs. All of this will be shown to you later in detail.

But lets start with my little sister,

ALIVIA STEIN.

She has the size of Lagoonas sister Kelpie, comperable to Barbie's sister Stacie maybe.

Alivia has a slightly lighter skin then I, just a tiny touch.

One thing that I love so much about my sister is that she really looks "Frankensteinish".

As myself, she has of course a lot of scars all over her body. Her hands are formed like a "claw", and when she walks, it remembers much of cartoonish versions of my dad.

Like a cartoon version of Frankenstein, she also has her bolts inside of her head instead of the neck, like I have.

Alivias hair is light metallic blue with black streaks, (un)naturally curled at the back and has bangs. The rest is held back with a transparent rubber band.

For the faceshot, we pulled the bangs up so you can see that Alivia has a huge car on her forehead too, which I don't have. But like me, she has one green and one blue eye and a scar on one of her cheeks, just the opposite site.

Her eyebrows are grey and her lips are dark orange to red.

Alivia comes with a cute dres that has red shoulder straps and ruffles at the top and also at the bottom of the skirt.

The fabric is mainly black with a checkered gear pattern in red, orange, yellow, a pale turquoise and a bit of white.

The back of the dress is plainly black and opens and closes with velcro.

Alivias boots are black and punctuate the Frankenstein look once more. They have big plateau heels, "scars" and buckles. I wish I could get a pair in my size as well!

Alivia has the basic five points of articulation. You can move her head, shoulders and hips. The shoulder joints are made so that you just can bend the arms fore- and backwards and not to the sides.

On this faceshot you can see what makes us look different from each other and also what makes us look like sisters. You also can see the slight difference in our skin tones.

Which is the perfect picture to start the review of this version of myself.

Like Alivia, I just have the basic five points of articulation.

My hair is black and white and hold together on top of my head in a high ponytail without curls.

I am wearing yellow eyeshadow and a pink lipstick. also I have a little bit of blush on my cheeks.

I come with a red barbecuse apron that has, if you look closer, the signature Frankenstein stitches molded on.

Here is my critical point, Mattel. I know that the plastic makes the apron cheaper, but there is already so much plastic on the planet, so why make clothing parts out of plastic when you also can make them out of fabric? A fabric apron also would have looked so much better and I am sure the fans of this playset would have paid a few bucks more for a fabric one.

But under the apron, you will find a very cute jumper that velcros in the back and has the same fabric at front and back which is great! The fabric mainly is blue and white striped and also has some black stitch stripes and melon slices with little faces printed on!

It is my favourite look for the summer!

Also I am wearing a pair of high heel sandals with buckles and lightning bolt shaped heels.

Now to the playset accessories.

First, there is the grill. It is silver coloured and looks like something that had been taken from my grandfathers labratory (who knows, maybe it is).

The cooking grate of the grill is black and you can pull it off and clip it back onto the grill.

Also, there is a blue tray also with stitching design and bolts or studs all around.

On the back of the tray you can find some infearmation like it is copyrighted 2017 Mattel and made in Indonesia.

The barbecuse tongues are lemon green and have the shape of skelletton hands.

Last but not least, there are three corn cobs with monster faces and handles so we dolls can hold them in our hands. Those are, of course, yellow.

Well, this was this weekends new blogspot.

If you want to see more, stop by here from time to time. During the next weeks, Calaminthe is goint to repost all of the old doll reviews she had on the old blog again to save them here in a new version.

At the moment, they are mainly Monster High doll reviews because when Clawdeen started her blog back in 2014 it had been planned just as a MH blog. The other dolls came much later

I hope that you like what you see. This blogspot should have gone online like five weeks ago, but because of Calaminthe's computer problems it went online today. The problems still are not solved yet, so it is all just praying the computer lives long enough until Calaminthe has earned enough money to get a better one.

It is time to say goodbye for now.

Have a voltageous weekend and an electrifying week!

REVIEW: Field Trip Gigi Grant

Hello Blogreaders,

Here is Gigi Grant with a new review of an old version of myself:

FIELD TRIP GIGI GRANT.

Calaminthe brought me home back in December 2014 and posted a review on her blog back then. I found out that reposting that old stuff is more complicated then a new description, so that is why you might never have seen this before.

The pictures though are old and some of them are blurry, like the one you see on the top.

It shows the front of my box.

The box had cute artwork. This one shows the big face-up at the back of the box. The one on the front, as you may guess on the picture above, was different.

Back then, our Reviews weren't as detailed.

But at the end, we do have SOME pictures. This one shows me in front of the box background display.

Here I am out of the box. I don't remember if I had a doll stand, a diary or a brush, but I guess I didn't come with those, because FIELD TRIP had been a low budget series.

Instead I had a golden telescope and a purple lunch bag.

My hair was straight and pink with an orange streak at the front that was hold together a little bit on one side. You can see the full lenght on the above picture.

I had magenta lipstick and golden eyeshadow with dark blue highlighter.

I was wearing a wonderful night blue dress that showed constellations in the nightsky. It also had a blue transparent material layer.

Also, I had a golden necklace that showed the Scorpio Constellation.

Last but not least, here you see my golden shoes that also had been scorpio constellation themed and had a telescope as heel.

This is the end of the review. We simply don't have more pictures. I hope you liked the review nevertheless, and we are trying to repost more old reviews, mainly MH, soon.

For today, its all. It is the hottest day ever (no, honestly!) and that is why I now prefer to take a bath together with some of my friends instead - even though as a child of the desert I am used to the heat!

I wish you a great day!

Bye,

REVIEW: Field Trip Toralei Stripe

Hello werecats and other monsters, and normies too,

my name is Toralei Stripe.

I went on a Freaky Field Trip to the aquarium on one Monday in 2015, best possibility for a werecat to see underwater creatures without getting wet!

Here are the pictures of this look. See me as:

FREAKY FIELDTRIP TORALEI STRIPE

Here is my box.

And here you can see my fangtastic new look in front of the aquarium display!

My hairstyle didn't look so different from my basic one at first sight, but I think the short look suits me best.

The different is that I got a new turquise streak at the front.

There are three black stripes on it as you can see. What you cannot see (Calaminthe saw it later - after she shot the pics - and told she had been sorry not to show that) is that I also got some black fishbone details in this streak which looks clawsome!

My eye make-up was turquise as well and matched the hairstyle, and myr lips were pinkish red.

This is my dress which I like very much. It is red and has a black fishbone pattern and also some claw scratch motives in turquise.

One of the highlights of my new look were my shoes.

They are turquise and transparent, have some stud details at the top and the heels are the open mouth of a shark which you can see at the side.

They are peep-toes.

Lagoona Blue and Honey Swamp as well as Lorna McNessie went crazy about these shoes and wanted them at once, but yes, they are mine!

MEOW!

From my field trip, I brought back these memorabillias:

A deep sea fish skelleton and a coffin-to-go cup with shark head top which matches perfectly with my shoes, which is funny.

Sorry Calaminthe forgot to make pictures of the box artwork and a whole body shot, but you can see the look on the display picture.

But on this group picture together with some other Monster high students, you can see the look. Here my hair is already combed out a lot.

And its the last picture in this review, so yeah,

have a fangtastic day, bye

REVIEW: Music Festival Clawdeen Wolf

Hello Blogmonsters,

here is Clawdeen Wolf.

Well, this is the first of the savings of my earlier blog I do.

I will just try to save all the old reviews, and they will be changed a bit.

There will be parts of the original text and also the old photos, otherwise this would be too much work.

And today I want to sart with this old review from me as:

MUSIC FESTIVAL CLAWDEEN WOLF

At the top you can see the faceshot. The whole review is kind of chaotic, it was one of my first ones and I didn't have much routine back then.

So, on this faceshot you can see thast I had long, curly brown hair with golden blonde streaks. IT was parted at the middle and I was wearing it open.

My lipstick had been a dark red, and I had purple eyeshadow with golden highlights.

In one ear I had two simple golden earrings, in the other ear there had also been one of those and another one that had long chains hanging down.

Look at my V.I.M. (Very Important Monster) backstage pass also!

Here is a closer look at my catsuit, purple with yellow stars, my black belt with studs, my new black glove and my fitting bracelets, two in black and one in gold.

And here is a closer look at my new golden boots. They have the zipper look I really love on my boots and black fang heels.

This is the whole new look.

One in front of a fitting display... this is how I looked like straight out of the box.

And here is one picture of myself still in the box.

I just have this front picture of the box, as you can see, it had a very classic MH box style.

Also, here you can have a look at the box artwork.

You also can see that there had been a Music Festival Venus McFlytrap and Abbey Bominable, but Calaminthe didn't buy those.

She didn't buy this version of me also, it had been a price she won entering a Giveaway.

Well, end of the review. Back in 2015 it had been a double review, so we will post the other half as well today and change it a bit.

Have a fangtastic day,

💜💚💜

CRAFTED: Schützenfest 2019

Hello Ghouls and Mansters,

here is Cleo deNile with the second Blogspot under the new adress.

It is "Schützenfest" in Olpe. The Germans of course understand the word. Those of you who follow us since years under the old adress may know it too, meanwhile.

For those who don't: It is a local folk festival (I hope the translation explains it) with a shooting contest. There some men are shooting a wooden eagle down off a high pole.

This festival begins each 3rd Friday in July and ends on late Monday evening. It is the most important festival here in town, and the whole town is decorated with buntings and green-white flags and more.
The men are wearing hats called "Schützenkappe" and the women will wear their best dresses, usually. There are parades in the town with march music and a huge festival on a public place named the "Schützenplatz" where 10000 of Olper meet and drink and talk, listen to music, eat our gastronomic specialities like "Beff" and "Spüene", drink beer, watching the King's Polonaise on Sunday and Monday, watch the men shoot the eagle down and guess who will be the new king and so on.

I wish I could show you pictures of the festival itselves and not just of an empty road in the morning, but I am a monster and don't like to walk between those thousands of normies.

Instead, Clawdeen decided we have our own litte Schützenfest here at home each year and create green and white clothes for each of us.

This logspot is about showing you the latest ones, but before, I wan't to post the old group shots of what Clawdeen made in the past years.

Here are the old fashions:

2014:

Everything is crocheted, not so Deuce's "Schützenkappe" - he wears it under his arm and it was a bit too tight so Clawdeen will make a new one for him in future as well as a new top - and pants.

2015:

Draculaura still has a crocheted dress, but all the other fashion is sewn. Here you can see how the "Schützenkappe" looks like when worn. Clawd's has got holes for his ears.

2016:

A nice year for Schützenfest fashion: Venus, Ghoulia and SloMo got T-Shirts with printed on "Schützenfest" motives, and I really like Robecca's steampunk outfit with the hat!

2017:

Clawdeens old fashion didn't fit her new body, so she decdided to make a new set for herself. Of course she thought of four of her friends as well.

2018:

Last year the collection expanded even more. Clawdeen found a nice green and white fabric with stars.

2019:

 - Well, this is this years collection, and I want to show you each outfit on a single picture.

Here you see again my new outfit. The old crochet dress didn't fit me too well and also, it has lost some of the glued on rhinestones it had.

My new outfit for Schützenfest is a green striped top (that perfectly matches the streaks in my hair) with golden glued on star shaped studs, a pair of cute loose white shorts and a pair ow new crown earrings with green rhinestones glued in.

Elle Eedee got a dress made of upcycled T-Shirt material in green with white trims around neck and bottom increased by a white belt with golden buckle and a pair of white bead earrings.

Moanica D'Kay got a simple white top and a skirt made of a new green and white fabric Clawdeen found this year. The skirt has a white fake button border glued on with golden studs, and she is wearing a pair of white fake pearl earrings.

For Spectra Vondergeist, Clawdeen came up with a flower print top in green with white and a skirt that repeats the fabric and has also inverted parts. She also has a pair of green leaf earrings.

Here we are again:

Me - Cleo de Nile - Elle Eedee, Moanica D'Kay and Spectra Vondergeist in our 2019 Schützenfest fashions.

Well, just four fashions this year?

No... Clawdeen had been able to create one more, but it doesn't make it on the group shot which had been shot before.

Here it is:

Clawdeens little sister Pawla Wolf got a white upcycled T-Shirt material dress with a big green polka dot bow at the front.

Also she has got a pair of new hair accessories. You can't see them on the picture. Those are white dice beads with a "P" and a "W" on each of the beads.

Also, Pawla has a little flag to wave with when the parade passes.

Well, this had been this years Schützenfest fashion, and Clawdeen hopes there are some pieces you liked and maybe also got some ideas to create your own festival doll fashion. As you can see, you can do a lot of different stuff with just two colours: green and white!

BTW: Maybe there will be some extra blogspots this week, if it works. Those will just be repeats of older reviews we did - maybe a little bit upgraded. This way we want to save the reviews we did on the old blog, so there won't be new stuff from Mondays to Thursdays - whenever Calaminthe will find time to save one. OF course you are nevertheless invited to stop by and have a look on these new old reviews. This is what we do it for - for our readers!

We just want the old reviews to be safe here in the new blog.

Next weekend though there will be new stuff - and there is also a review planned.

We will, as always, post hints of the weekend ones in our facebook groups, on twitter and on pinterest so it is easy for you to follow us.

Have a majestic weekend and a royal week,

for the ones from Olpe who read this: Guodde Fierdahe!
